Ich bin wie Du, is the title of a German song (demo) and means "I am like you". It's sung by Marianne Rosenberg in 1975/1976.

There are two essential points in this text:

2. Real love = Freedom, (..lass ich dir die Freiheit)

We all "like to be" like someone we admire, respect or see as a teacher.

Whether it's Christ, Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Kennedy, Buddha or Mohammed, we all have our own Messengers of Light.

"Ich bin wie Du" appeals to this strong feeling.


But what - for example - if Marianne Rosenberg would really resemble someone like Christ.



What's left of you after life?

If she really would succeed in becoming like Christ, what would be the difference between Marianne and Christ in a spiritual way?

In this sense, all the things that are left at the end of our life that don't resemble the universal spiritual origin, will eventually die.

No love without freedom

The other lesson in this song is that love is directly connected to "Freedom". In other words, there can be no real love without freedom.

This Freedom is a gift in our life we need to handle with great care. It gives us the opportunity to discover life and to experience what a great miracle and what the meaning of life is.

Real love and "freedom of love" gives the opportunity for personal growth, it's unconditional. Not only for ourselves, but also for each other. That means we even can Screw Up things sometimes.
