The true value of things is in our mind.
Take this simple example:
Grandpa's watch Just before he died your Grandpa gave you his watch. It is of great value to you. Over the years, one by one, most parts of this watch have been replaced by your local watchmaker. Last week, without realizing it, you replaced the last original piece of the watch. One morning the local watchmaker knocks at your door. It turns out he saved and repaired all original parts of your grandpa's watch over the years. Perversely he has put them all together to make another watch. Your watch. But it's not your watch! Your watch is in your pocket isn't it? The question is: which watch is your watch? |
From this simple example it's clear that 'your watch' as such doesn't exist.
"Your watch' only exists in your head, or to be precise, in your mind.
Now let's add some more information...
In 1954 a scientist called Aebersold concluded that 98 percent of the 10 to the power of 28 atoms of the body are replaced annually.
In practice this implicates that (just like your grandpa's watch) after 6 or 7 years all the atoms in your body are replaced.
However, you stay you, don't you? So the concept of the real 'YOU' 'exists' in your mind, as the physical and mental 'YOU' are changing constantly.
In fact, as Deepak Chopra stated, 'YOU' are everywhere and nowhere at the same time. 'You', or your mind, don't have a local address.
Keep care of the 'real you' and watch it!
